Your future as a starting point
In this role as an Embedded Hardware Engineer, you work on battery systems that directly contribute to zero-emission transportation. It is a position for engineers who like technical ownership, enjoy building from first requirements to production, and want to see their work perform in real-world applications.
Highlights
- Salary up to €5,400 gross per month, depending on experience
- Full hardware ownership from requirements to production
- Work on battery energy storage systems for the transportation sector
What will you do
As an Embedded Hardware Engineer, you will contribute to the development and further improvement of advanced battery management systems used in transportation applications. Your focus is on the embedded hardware domain, where you translate system-level ideas and improvements into robust hardware concepts that can be designed, tested and manufactured with confidence.
You will be responsible for schematic design, PCB layout, prototyping, validation and the transition towards production. In practice, that means you work hands-on with Altium Designer, build and test prototypes, document your work clearly and make sure hardware choices support performance, reliability and manufacturability. You are not working on isolated design tasks, but on hardware that plays a critical role in safety, continuity and system behaviour.
You will work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment alongside hardware, software and systems engineers. Together, you align on interfaces, integration and design decisions, while also supporting supplier selection, manufacturing choices and second-line support for hardware-related issues. That makes this a role with real technical depth, but also with visible impact across the full product lifecycle.
What do you bring
- A BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in embedded hardware development
- Experience with analog, digital, mixed-signal and power electronics
- Experience with Altium Designer and familiarity with board-level EMC concepts
- Fluent English skills; Dutch is a plus
What will you get in return
- A salary of up to €5,400 gross per month, depending on experience
- 25 vacation days plus 13 ADV days per year
- The possibility to work partly from home, up to 1 day per week
- Travel allowance
- Employment conditions under the Metal and Engineering Collective Labour Agreement (CAO Metaal & Techniek)
- The opportunity to work on technically complex, zero-emission products with real-world impact
- A growing engineering environment with room for technical depth and future leadership development
About the client
You will join a technology-driven engineering company focused on battery energy storage and battery management systems for demanding transportation applications. The organisation works at the intersection of embedded electronics, power electronics and system engineering, with involvement across concept development, validation, production and long-term support. Two clear strengths are the high technical complexity of the projects and the fact that engineers have real influence on design choices and technical direction. The culture is pragmatic, engineering-led and collaborative, with clear responsibilities and short lines between disciplines.
✔Plus: Real technical ownership across the full hardware development cycle
✔Plus: Engineering-driven environment focused on zero-emission transportation technology
